Welcome Guest! |

We are situated in a semi rural area on the edge of Essex and close to Epping Forest. Chigwell is just 45 minutes from Central London.

Chigwell and Hainault has around 750 members, having more than tripled in size during the last 25 years. Our community is well known for its friendliness and has a younger membership than most in the United Synagogue.

Chigwell and Hainault was formed in 1968 when the thriving community, which had met in a house in Chigwell for 5 years, merged with the well established Hainault community (founded 1950). In 2007 we celebrated our 30th anniversary at our Limes avenue address.

We are a vibrant community and have several learning programmes taking place at our shul. These include a Ladies’ Learning programme, Seed, Talmud Learning, a Chumash Discussion class and stimulating services.Youth leaders run events for youth of secondary school age, which are educational and social, as well as B.A. and other organised activities. There are youth services and children’s services held regularly and trips and Youth Shabbatons taking place on a regular basis.
